Hello, I’m Álvaro García.

I’m the author of Mental Garden, a publication where I explore ideas for thinking clearly, making better decisions, and developing meaningful creative projects.

Each week I share short essays inspired by psychology, philosophy, science, and the lives and works of great thinkers. The goal is simple: to find powerful ideas and explain them clearly so they can be applied in everyday life and in the creative projects you want to start (or are already working on).

Most articles take about 5 minutes to read.

What Mental Garden is about

Mental Garden revolves around four fundamental skills:

  • Mental clarity: How to think with sound judgment, filter noise, and make decisions in the age of information overload.

  • Deep focus: How to protect your attention and sustain creative work in a distracted world.

  • The creative mind: How to generate valuable ideas, maintain momentum, and turn creativity into real projects.

  • Work systems: How to organize your mind, your information, and your energy to build sustainable projects.

These four areas form the foundation of the project.

The core idea is simple: when we cultivate the mind with better ideas, the way we think, create, and live begins to change.

My approach

Most of the ideas I share are not originally mine.

They come from books, scientific research, philosophy, and the work of great thinkers throughout history. My role is to study these ideas, connect them, and explain them in a clear, practical, and accessible way.

I believe human knowledge grows layer by layer. Each generation builds on the ideas of those who came before. With Mental Garden, I try to contribute in a small way to that ongoing process.
