thank you for this. We have been working at similar changes, but the little by little method of changing the environment is explained very clearly here, making it easy to understand.

Hi Sue! :)

I'm glad this text inspired you and that you found valuable insights here. I seem to recall that the United States had very high rates of overweight people, is that correct? Perhaps this article is even more relevant there.

Take care!

Yes it's very true we Americans have become the most bloated humans on the planet ... in so many ways, I'm sorry to say. Jeff and I have been battling our tremendous weight gain for decades with little success, despite the changes we've made in diet and exercise Jeff is in the other room rowing his heart out as I write this. And because of my exericise efforts, I've now racked up three joint replacements. It's nuts! Meanwhile, I discovered after returning from four months living on an Israeli kibbutz and eating very healthy food, that even eating the same way back in the States, I regained the 15 pounds I lost there. So, that leads me to think that the processing of food here, as well as the abundance of it, contains lots of additives that are not healthy. Even the so-called "healthy" foods are crammed with garbage. Alas ... well ... that's my story and I'm sticking to it. 😇

Oh, I see. Yes, it could be that meals are fattier, sedentary lifestyles are more common, and the same foods contain more additives...

I hope you can achieve your goal of being healthy and fit. That's beneficial for the body on many levels.

Take care! :)

Thank you for the good wishes. At our age, healthy and fit is a moving target and the goals become remaining ambulatory and cogent. Cada dia es un regalo!

Hi Sue!

Yes, it's crucial to stay healthy. Life expectancy isn't as important in many countries anymore as the quality of that life. There's no point in reaching 100 if life is a constant struggle. You're write.

And yes, "Cada día es un regalo" es totally correct. Nice!
