Watching today's futbol game between France and England was a perfect example of the first points. At half-time, they got the feedback from their coach that they were spread out too much, failed to engage aggressively to obtain and keep the ball in their control, and basically sleep-walked through that portion of the game. Too much vino at lunch. The second half was phenomenal. They played the game, solving their problems, when they woke up and took charge of the ball. WOW! I wish I could watch the Spain-Argentina game. Good luck on that one, Alvaro. I'll be rooting for Spain, hopign they'll kick Argentina's arrogant posterior.

Hi Sue! :)

I'm glad the text inspired you. It's incredibly interesting to see how these five skills are always present in all habits; they're universal skills that help us in any area. They're not easy to master, but the example you gave is great. Deliberate practice is the skill I've worked on the most since I started writing; I'd say it's one of the most crucial in this field, but all five help.

The feedback, the critique, is essential if one is to know how to focus on problem areas, or even know that they exist. Many do the work and consider it magnificent, when in reality it's garbage. One must never be afraid of critique no matter how brutal. And the critic needs to apply that skill of seeing the problems in a diplomatic manner, stating the issue, then offering solutions or reasons for the issues.
