Oh you do know how to get to me, don't you, Alvaro! While Jeff and I have donated our read books through the years, there are always more that make it to our shelves. They have often smothered me with obligation. "I NEED to read these." Now, I can take my time and look at them as cherished members of my future. Thank you.
I think it's something that happens to almost all of us. Even though we give away books, the quantity always tends to increase more and more, it's impressive hahaha.
I've been accumulating books for a long time, but then I realized it was better to prioritize quality over quantity. Now I have fewer, but I choose my next reads very carefully to guide me in this almost infinite universe of readings. That's why I mentioned the literary compass.
Your compass is a really good way to curate your book-larnin' in an organized manner. I'm one of those silly people who is inspired to buy a book based on momentary interest. Then I'll put it on the towering TBR stack, where it molders for a while before I place it on a shelf.
I hear you, I have lots and lots of books stacked up too. Now I try to only add 4 for each reading and only if they are related to the topic, so I can learn consistently and not leave anything behind. The time has come to prioritize quality over quantity.
