As an inveterate hoarder, I have learned to keep my car keys on a hook by the front door. And I’ve cut way back on acquiring stuff—except for books. Slowly I’m trying to de-accumulate now. I keep up with work and life chores but recently my phone case with some bank cards went missing (outside of my messy house though). The phone and its charger remained with me and the missing case is still a mystery. I froze the cards and all is well. I’m not wasting time on this past event. If it’s meant to be I’ll get the answer eventually. If not, so be it. And as a child I learned “never say never” and “pride goeth before a fall” (which have seemed true up to now, although only 79 years at the end of July, so who knows?).

I got a laugh out of the term "inveterate hoarder". We often fill the house with things we buy because they seem useful at the time, but then end up accumulating dust in the garage.

There is a Spanish phrase that reminds me of what you are saying: "what thieves don't steal ends up in the corners".

Thank you! I’ve always been meaning to learn Spanish but unfortunately haven’t gone much beyond “Hola” which the helpful phone suggestions just showed as a waving hand. In all respects, I’m a work in progress.

Hahaha. It made me laugh what you said about the hand waving. Don't worry if you don't speak Spanish, you can read me in English, that's why I decided to start writing English versions of my Spanish texts, in order to reach those people who didn't speak my language.

¡Adiós! (Bye!)
